·Rinse the RlB tender boat thoroughly with fresh water after each use, especially after saltwater operation.

·Keep the inflatable tubes clean and check for debris. Use recommended cleaners for the tube material (PVC/Hypalon).

·Regularly inspect and tighten all fittings, rails, and the console.

·Ensure the drain plug is open when stored to prevent water accumulation.

·For long-term storage, keep the fast inflatable tender in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and fully deflated if possible.

·Follow the engine manufacturer's guidelines for outboard motor maintenance.

|Safe Operation Guidelines

Safe operation begins with preparation and continues with vigilant practices on the water.

Pre-Departure Safety Checks

Before starting the engine, perform these critical checks:

  • Passenger Briefing & Capacity: Brief all passengers on the location and use of life jackets (PFDs), the engine cut-off switch (kill cord), and basic procedures. Never exceed the maximum capacity of 4 persons.

  • Essential Gear Check: Ensure a serviceable, correctly sized life jacket is available for every person on board. Confirm the fire extinguisher, visual distress signals, sound-producing device, and navigation lights are present and functional.

  • Boat Integrity: Visually inspect the fiberglass hull for cracks and ensure the inflatable tubes are firm and free from significant damage. Verify the self-draining deck plugs are secure and clear of debris.

  • Fuel & Engine: Check the 60-liter fuel tank level, ensuring you have enough for your trip plus a reserve. Check for fuel leaks or odors. Verify the engine oil level and ensure the battery is charged.

Key Procedures During Operation

Kill Cord (Engine Cut-Off Switch): Always attach the kill cord lanyard to your person before starting the engine. Its purpose is to stop the engine if you are displaced from the helm, preventing a runaway boat.

  • Life Jackets (PFDs): The safest practice is for all occupants to wear their life jackets at all times while on the water. This is non-negotiable for children and non-swimmers.

  • Speed & Awareness: Your 30-50HP engine provides high speed, but you must always operate at a speed safe for the conditions, visibility, and traffic. Be especially mindful of your wake. Maintain a constant lookout for other boats, swimmers, skiers, and debris.

  • Load & Stability: Keep the load balanced. Remind passengers to remain seated on the designated seats while underway, particularly during high-speed maneuvers or in choppy water. The boat's stability can be compromised if people stand or sit on the tubes while moving.

  • Water Sports (Using Ski Rings): When towing skiers or wakeboarders, have a dedicated observer to watch the person being towed. Ensure clear hand signals are agreed upon. Circle and approach a downed skier slowly and from downwind, turning your engine off before they re-board.

|Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance is crucial for safety, performance, and longevity.

After Every Use (Post-Trip)

Flush the Engine: If used in saltwater, flush the outboard engine's cooling system with fresh water using earmuffs or a flush port.

  • Rinse the Boat:Thoroughly rinse the entire boat with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and dirt. Pay special attention to the tubes, stainless-steel fittings, and the deck.

  • Dry & Ventilate: Open all storage compartments, dry the deck, and air out the boat to prevent mildew.

  • Regular Maintenance (Every 100 Hours or Seasonally)

  • Engine Service: Follow your outboard engine manufacturer's scheduled maintenance for oil changes, gear case lubrication, spark plug replacement, and fuel filter changes.

  • Hull & Tubes: Clean the fiberglass hull with a marine-grade cleaner and wax it periodically. Wash the inflatable tubes with soapy water and a soft brush; use a specific protectant to guard against UV degradation

  • Steering & Propeller: Inspect steering cables and connections for corrosion or stiffness. Check the propeller for damage, nicks, or fishing line wrapped around the shaft.

Annual / Long-Term Storage

  • Engine Winterization: If storing for winter, add fuel stabilizer, change the engine oil, fog the cylinders, and disconnect the battery. Consult your engine manual.

  • Boat Storage: Store the boat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It is recommended to slightly deflate the tubes and support the hull to avoid flat spots.

  • Safety Gear: Check expiry dates on flares and fire extinguishers. Have inflatable life jackets professionally serviced as required.
